I was invited to participate in a two day workshop with legendary typographer Doyald Young at the University of North Texas. My client was Wal-Mart. I attempted to make it more modern, fast, easy, friendly, and caring while still maintaining the important aspects of the old mark. The assignment was to redesign the typographic identity mark and assume that the company has something of its original mark that it cannot afford to ditch completely.

Process Below are selected thumbnails and computer output from the development of the new mark. It was an honor and a challenge to work with Doyald.
