In 2003 I submitted my entrance portfolio to the Communication Design department at UNT in an orange ammo box. My portfolio was rejected. I wanted my box to be unique and memorable, it was. I know it wasn't the reason I failed, but I find it to be a humorously symbolic reminder of the poor judgment and lack of preparation I displayed during that review.
After being accepted the following year I was up against the midpoint portfolio review. I paid to have these shirts printed and gave them out to my classmates with instructions to wear them the morning of the review. The result was a small army of students wearing bright orange ammo box t-shirts. I passed that review among the top 10 in my class.
